Job Title: Commercial Business Manager

Job Overview:

The Commercial Manager at RAK Ports holds a key position in building new relationships & utilizing data analysis to inform strategic decisions within the commercial sector. This role actively participates in customer, commercial, budgeting, forecasting, and aligning financial objectives by delivering thorough insights, reports, and results. The primary objective is to enhance commercial relationships, strategies and bolster the overall financial well-being of the organization through meticulous customer service, analysis and collaborative efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Discover new customers and craft solutions/products to attract and win new business for RAK Ports
  • Drive new business relationships and craft prospects for RAK Ports
  • Identifying products to enable RAK Ports growth, enabling customer processes, and developing strategies to aid RAK Ports to Win
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements through product development
  • Monitor and analyse financial metrics to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency
  • Develop and maintain Commercial models to aid in decision-making processes
  • Develop a quick review mechanism for all opportunities to evaluate Returns
  • Conduct scenario analysis to assess potential financial outcomes
  • Perform thorough analysis of commercial data, performance metrics, and market trends to provide insightful inputs for strategic decision-making.
  • Consolidate and examine commercial data, incorporating budgetary and income statement projections, aligning with the organization’s objectives and financial position.
  • Evaluate historical and present commercial data, recognize patterns, and forecast future performance to support strategic planning initiatives within the commercial realm.
  • Ability to structure and arrange PowerPoint presentations and Board packs for CCO and CEO
  • Collaborate in the budgeting process, offering commercial analysis and insights to align budgets with operations, commercial, hr, and finance.
  • Support in forecasting methodologies, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial targets.
  • Collaborate closely with the CCO & CEO to assess opportunities, evaluate products, and analyse market and industry trends, utilizing data and reports for informed decision-making within the commercial department.
  • Engage with the finance to design & model, cost management, and efficiency analysis to optimize resource allocation and enhance performance.
  • Assist the CCO presenting outcomes of commercial analysis to stakeholders, fostering informed decision-making and strategic initiatives.

  • Proactively seek opportunities for process improvement in commercial development and reporting methodologies
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in commercial space to enhance departmental efficiency and ensure we’re engaged and working with our customers on trends
  • Maintain a big picture view of RAK Ports vision, mission and values and prioritise the promotion of the group’s goals and organisational needs

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or similar field
  • 10 years of experience in Business development Management, in the Ports, Bulk and Shipping industry.
  • Sound customer base with strong industry connections.
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, power-point, MS Office and financial software applications
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with complex data sets
